As A Man Among Men
Awakened Warriors is more than a men’s support group. We are part of a growing international movement. Our Circle is based on the principles and practices of the ManKind Project, an organization that has been fostering personal growth among men all over the world since 1979. Awakened Warriors is an open Men’s Circle – whose ongoing meetings are intended to continue the work that the ManKind Project has created, and to introduce men to the power of standing in a circle with other men.
How We Do It
Our Circles meet on a weekly basis, are free to attend, and follow a format that creates an environment where men can share honestly and openly about their experiences, triumphs and struggles. Each meeting is led by an experienced member, who we call the King, and the flow of our evening happens in several segments, or rounds. Each round strengthens the circle, or container, creating the atmosphere of trust and support.
What to Expect
Awakened Warriors men’s circle is an open group. We welcome and encourage visitors. Over the course of an evening and its rounds, opportunities arise for men to share their feelings–spanning from joy to anger to sorrow–many times it’s the first time a man has let down his guard in front of other men. Sometimes there is shouting, often there are tears. “All of you is welcome here,” is a line we you will hear repeated.
